| Great Smoky Mountains Association is a non-profit organization established in 1953 and authorized by Congress to support the park’s educational, scientific and historical programs through sales of merchandise, donations and volunteer efforts. Based at park headquarters in Gatlinburg, GSMA operates heritage centers in several park gateway communities. The centers offer Smokies merchandise, books on natural history, and historical information on the park. | ||||||
