Cherokee Lights & Legends Christmas

Where: Cherokee Indian Fair Grounds, Cherokee

Stroll under the lights, enjoy interactive displays, the 40-ft Christmas tree, a carnival ride or the synthetic ice rink. 5-9 pm (Wed-Thurs); 5-10 pm (Fri & Sat); 5 pm-12:30 am New Year's Eve. $5 for adults; kids under 5 get in free. Skate rental fee $3 for a 30-minute session. Enjoy entertainment: AM Superstars - New Year's Eve. Fireworks at 10 pm.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express

The 1 ¼ hour round-trip excursion comes to life as the train departs the Bryson City depot for a special visit at the "North Pole." Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, guests on board will enjoy warm cocoa and a treat while listening and reading along with the magical story. The train arrives to find Santa Claus waiting. Santa boards the train greeting each child and presenting them with their own silver sleigh bell.
