Utilizing both traditional and oriental techniques -- and sometimes employing American Indian motifs -- Ms. Ellison depicts the varied wildflowers, animals, human inhabitants, and landscapes of the Smokies region. She was recently the subject of a "Carolina Camera" CBS-TV profile syndicated to affiliated stations throughout the eastern United States, and Elizabeth Ellison Watercolors was one of the establishments selected for inclusion in Fodor's Guide to the National Parks and Seashores of the East (1994).

Located across from the Whittier Post Office. The Maple Leaf Craft Co-op began in June of 1999 with about 20 local artists and crafters. Today there are over 60 crafters, from Swain and Jackson counties. It occupies the front half of Stuff & Such, next door to the historical Center.

A country store with fresh ground cornmeal, jams, country hams, candles and quality gifts. The 1886 room is full of antiques, lamps, furniture and one-of-a-kind items. The 1930 gift shop offers Cherokee made baskets, arts and crafts. Collectors will find Civil War, Indian artifacts, pottery and jewelry.
