Swain County Chamber of Commerce
The objectives of the Swain County Chamber of Commerce are to develop, encourage, promote and protect business and residential interests; to foster and protect industrial residential development; and to be the problem solving leadership catalyst of the Swain County area. The Chamber is a membership organization (501C-6) that has a 10-member board and meets twice monthly at the Chamber office meeting room. Voting meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at noon; and workshops are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon.

Swain County Tourism Development Authority
The mission of the Swain County Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is to promote growth of tourism opportunities that benefit the Swain County economy. The SCTDA was established in ???? by an act of the North Carolina General Assembly. The SCTDA has 9-member board appointed by the Swain County Board of Commissioners, and meets twice monthly at the Swain County Administration Building. Voting meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at noon; and workshops are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon. All meetings are open to the public and all agendas and meeting minutes are available on SwainCountyTDA.com.
The Swain County TDA is funded by a 4% room occupancy tax collected from guests of Swain County accommodations. No property taxes are used to fund the Swain County Tourism Development Authority.
Any lodging owner that pays property taxes is eligible for a free listing on GreatSmokies.com, and to have their brochures displayed in the Swain County Visitor Center.
The SCTDA also manages the Swain County Visitor Center and Heritage Museum in Bryson City. Call the Visitor Center at 828-488-7857.
