Great Smoky Mountains Railroad — The PEANUTS™ Easter Beagle Express! This 4-hour round trip special event train departs the historic Bryson City Depot at 11:00 am, and will travel along the Tuckasegee River to the quaint town of Dillsboro, North Carolina for a 1 ½ hour layover of activities.

PEANUTS charactersPassengers will join Snoopy, Lucy, Charlie Brown and our Easter Bunnies for old fashioned Easter fun! Festivities include an on-going Easter egg hunt, crafts, coloring sheets, temporary tattoos, and snacks with Snoopy and more. Red Caboose on Everett Street — noon - 6 pm. Meet the Easter Bunny and take your own great photos.

egg huntDarnell Farms — 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. Easter Egg Hunt with tons of eggs, real and fake, filled with surprises (healthy alternatives to candy) and a Grand Surprise per group. Times: 10:00 am - Ages 3 and under; 10:20 am - 4-8; 10:40 am - 7-9; 11:00 am - 10-12; 11:30 am - special needs (all ages).

Egg dying stations with additional crafts (bring old clothes). Baby bunny rabbit photo booth (get your photos taken with real baby bunnies & baby lambs). Fun games like sack race, egg toss competition, tug of war, and more. Pets are welcome as long as they are good around people and other animals! More info

Back Porch Old-Time Music Jam — 1-3 pm. Great Smoky Mountains National Park Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Cherokee. Bring an acoustic instrument and join in on this old-time jam. Or just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds as others play traditional Appalachian music.

Dillsboro Easter Hat Parade — 2 - 3 pm. Just 20 minutes from Bryson City. Antique cars from the Old Timers Model A Club lead the parade. Calling all ladies, gentlemen, children and dogs. Grab your hat and join in the fun during Dillsboro’s delightfully unpretentious annual Easter Hat Parade! Plenty of prizes for best hats after the parade. Come early to make your hat. More info

13th Annual Wave Sport Nantahala Open
— 10 am - 3 pm, Nantahala Gorge. A fun competition; open to all boaters no matter the experience or ability, and consisting of categories for every skill level. Just stop by the staging area above Nantahala Falls in the Gorge and register. And don't forget the open house after party with music, beverages, and a screening of the day's footage. More info
