Come enjoy the first community music jam of the new year! Come experience the sounds of local musicians as they demonstrate their talents. "Mr. Popper's Penguins" will be shown at 3:30 p.m. Movies are free to the public and projected onto an 8x10 foot screen, with theatre style sound system. Starting off the Winter Craft Classes at the Stecoah Valey Cultural Arts Center is the "Wool Rug Braiding Class". Beginning Saturday January 14th, this is a three day class on Saturdays in January (Jan. 14, 21 and 28). This is the perfect class for beginners to learn the art of braided wool or for people who want a refresher course. The Heartland Anglers Fishing Tournament series sponsored by Bass Pro Shops returns to Fontana Lake this spring. Dates include January 7, January 28, February 18, March 3, March 24 and April 28. Tournament fishing runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the start at Fontana Marina. Anglers must compete in 4 of 6 tournaments to quialify for the 2012 Classic on Guntersville Lake in guntersville Lake, Alabama. Call Ronnie Crisp at the Fontana Marina for details at 828-498-2129.
