Presented by the Nantahala Racing Club, the Glacier Breaker is a family-friendly slalom and downriver event on the Nantahala River. This fun community event is a great introduction for first-time racers. Participants can use racing or plastic boats. More info

Gospel music legends Mark Lowry and The Martins will hit the road together with their Music & Madness tour. More than 20 years ago Mark and fellow Gaither Vocal Band-mate Michael English insisted Gloria Gaither listen to an impromptu audition of Joyce, Jonathan & Judy Martin. The rest is history as the Gaithers helped introduce The Martins to the world. More info

Explore the history of the Smokies on the March hike to Smokemont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, just 3 miles north of the Park Visitor Center. Join Friends of the Smokies on this guided 6.2-mile round trip hike which is moderate in difficulty and has a total elevation gain of 1,400 feet. This Classic Hike features Friends’ support for the treatment of ash trees against the Emerald Ash Borer. A $10 donation for Friends members and $35 for non-members is requested to benefit the Smokies Trails Forever fund. More info on all hikes & registration

Empty Bowls: Local Potters Event for Food Banks

First, select a handcrafted bowl from a collection donated by area potters. Next, fill your bowl with a hearts meal of soup, salad, bread, and dessert prepared by Executive Chef Steve Cipriano. Stay for live music, and finally, take your bowl home with you to keep as a reminder of hunger in our local and global communities. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Clay and Cherokee County Food Banks. More info

Cherokee's Cast Into Spring Trout Tournament

Luckily, a rag-tag bunch of alley cats come to their rescue! This feline adventure has an upbeat, jazzy score that includes "The Aristocats," "Scales and Arpeggios" and "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat."
