Jackson County Green Energy Park Blacksmithing Studio. Blacksmith Knife
WHAT TO EXPECT: During this class, individuals will make a blacksmiths knife out of 5160 recycled train spring. Students will learn about the basics of blacksmithing, how to forge properly, and how to shape the knife into the blade style of the student's choosing. Individuals will also learn how knives are heat treated through thermocycling, as well as quenching and tempering. Students will then learn how to grind the blades to the desired profile and sharpness.

$260 Per Person. One Day, One Knife.
5 Students Each Saturday Session.
• No experience necessary. • Minors 13 and older may participate with a parent/ guardian present
• Dress in clothing made of natural fibers only (NO polyester).
• Wear close-toed shoes and long pants.
• Spaces are limited.
