Cherokee Lights & Legends Christmas Event

Where: Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds

Free admission; some inexpensive entertainment options. Enjoy the lights displays, live Santa Claus, synthetic ice rink, bazaar, food venders, bouncy houses, 9-hole mini-golf, face painting and a 40-foot Christmas tree. Fireworks begin at 9 pm on New Year's Eve. More info

42nd Annual Bryson City Christmas Parade

Folk School Fireside Sale

Friends of the Smokies Classic Hike Series: Grotto Falls on Trillium Gap Trail

Join Friends of the Smokies for monthly guided hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park featuring interpretation and leadership by author and hiking expert Danny Bernstein. Each hike highlights an achievement or cause that Friends of the Smokies has supported in the Park.
This month's hike is Grotto Falls on Trillium Gap Trail; a 7 mile (round trip) trail of 1,000 ascent and moderate difficulty. Grotto Falls on Trillium Gap Trail features profuse waterfalls. The theme of the hike is Roaring Fork visitor amenities.

Cherokee Christmas Parade

Parade begins at Whitewater Path Road and travels up US 441. Floats, bands, and of course Santa. All floats are lighted and it is a beautiful night-time event. More info
