Where: Oconaluftee Indian Village

Mon-Sat; closed Sundays. As you step into the Oconaluftee Indian Village, you’re transported back to witness the challenges of Cherokee life at a time of rapid cultural change. Tour guides help you explore the historic events and figures of the 1760's. Visitors can interact with villagers as they  participate in their daily activities. The Village also hosts live reenactments, interactive demonstrations, and Hands-On Cherokee Pottery for Kids classes. More info

Mon-Sat, closed Sundays. This acclaimed outdoor drama traces the Cherokee people through the eons, through the zenith of their power, through the heartbreak of the Trail of Tears, finally ending, appropriately, in the present day, where the Cherokee people, much like their newly re-scripted drama, continue to rewrite their place in the world ...a place based on traditional Cherokee values and modern sensibilities.  Preshow at 7:30 pm. Bass Tournament

Where: Fontana Lake, Almond Boat Park

Old Charleston Fraternal Order of Police Lodge is sponsoring the tournament as a fundraiser for their Drug Abuse Resistance Education program (D.A.R.E.). 1 or 2-person teams, $100 per boat (includes big fish, launch fee and dinner plate). $5 BBQ/hamburger plates for non-contestants. $1000 first place, $500 second place, $300 third place, $200 big fish. 6:30 am launch, 4:30 pm weigh-in. Tunes on the Tuck Free Concert - Juniper

Enjoy this free concert on the banks of the Tuckasegee River. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the grass in front of the outdoor stage. This week's featured artist is Juniper; a blend of Celtic and alternative folk music. Juniper weaves a tight tapestry of haunting melodies and lush harmonies. Sprinkle in some fiery rhythms and compelling vocals and you have the unique sound that this group is known for. More info
