Live Music Venues in Bryson City

Western North Carolina has a rich tradition of creating and showcasing great live music, and Bryson City is home to a number of great venues. You’ll find a variety of genres from old-time country and bluegrass to soul, blues, reggae, rock and roll and more. Want to get in on the action? Join one of the informal community music jams at the library.

  • Marianna Black Library Music

    The Library has a community Jam twice a month from spring through fall. Anyone with a guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dulcimer – anything unplugged – is invited to join in. There is also a Summer Music Series with events twice a month, June - August. Enjoy local and regional favorites playing different genres – traditional mountain music, bluegrass, Celtic, blues, world music and more.
  • Stecoah Valley Center Music

    Stecoah Valley Center's annual summer concert series, An Appalachian Evening (Saturdays, June thru August) offers an ever-changing schedule of bluegrass, folk and old-time mountain music by award-winning artists. Rich in cultural heritage, the series is a favorite with locals and visitors alike. All concerts at 7:30 pm in the air-conditioned Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. The Center is also home to the Stecoah Artisans Gallery, with a wide variety of traditional and contemporary art and craft: paintings, pottery, weaving, wood, glass, photographs, jewelry and more.
  • Unplugged Pub Music

    Bryson City's newest night spot offers a relaxed, upscale atmosphere, large outdoor deck, and live music on many weekends. Enjoy dinner from a food truck on site (dates vary) or take out from one of our close-by downtown restaurants. dog paw print symbolPet friendly outside seating.
  • Mountain Layers Brewing Music

    Eclectic mix of classic rock, blues, folk, and Appalachian music from local and regional performers. Music at the Brewery is on the covered rooftop terrace overlooking downtown Bryson City. (In cold weather plastic siding drops down and heaters are added.) Our permanent food truck, The Rice Wagon Bryson City, is open every day. Check Facebook for current event schedule.
  • Nantahala Outdoor Center Music

    On the banks of the Nantahala River, Big Wesser Riverside Pub offers hungry adventurers quick, convenient and delicious food and free live music. Stop by at night for live music every Friday and Saturday night, Memorial Day through Labor Day, and on special event weekends. We feature bluegrass, rock, soul, reggae and more! Big Wesser boasts the area’s best live music venue and perhaps the best open-air bar west of Asheville.
  • Bryson City Brewing Music

    Bryson City Brewing hosts a variety of local and regional musicians featuring country, rock, folk, bluegrass, and Appalachian music. Enjoy an evening of music presented on a great outdoor stage on the lawn with the fire pit. The restaurant has a wide variety of food available for inside or outside dining not to mention a full bar featuring over 20 beers on tap, including our own! Onsite parking available.
